Leadership and Survival

The pandemic crisis unveiled many flaws in our industry, including the top-down leadership to which we are so accustomed. The traditional leadership model that cannot stand through these times. Ideas and decisions made from top to bottom are rigid and slow. Technology now brings information at the same time to all participants in an organization. You can Google that! Traditional leadership is rapidly being replaced by a peer to peer leadership. In this model, there’s neither top nor bottom.

Telling people what to do is unsustainable—I’m not a huge fan of this. We chose them because we know they can perform the roles and responsibilities. We see people who genuinely care about what they do, flourish, and grow. Peer to peer leadership unleashes the power of individual contribution that creates a collective impact. The fluidity of its philosophy and structure allows us to operate in any external condition.

The human instinct to survive is one of our most powerful drives. Leadership and survival are like water and oil.Leadership’s basic tenet is to serve and guide others. It enables people to be their best and allow them to share with others ( lead). Leaders cultivate self-awareness and understanding the impact of our behavior on the people around us. Survival is a reaction to a human condition for self-preservation. It controls people and processes rather than allowing people to make mistakes, and adjusting if it doesn’t serve the majority.

Creating a culture of peer to peer leadership is an essential shift that our industry must seriously reconsider. It is a slow process. Finding people who care enough to move important things forward and make it better takes time. ANX embraces and promotes this model since its inception. And this journey is an infinite transformation.

Live. Love. Serve.
