As Administrator of ANX Home Healthcare, Thomas strongly believes in a holistic approach to health care, providing medical, spiritual and social support to patients with life-limiting illnesses. As a key contributor to local, state and federal legislation affecting the health care field, he continues to stay on top of the latest medical trends and best practices for providing comprehensive home health care. His passion for research and development has resulted in ground-breaking initiatives that have shaped wound care management nationwide.
At Seton Medical Center, he was responsible for overseeing the San Francisco Center for Advanced Wound Care program, leading an interdisciplinary team which ranked #2 out of 100+ nationwide facilities under the management of Curative Health Services for clinical wound care services. He also provided training and instruction to medical, podiatric, and nursing students through the hospital preceptorship program.
While at Seton, he conducted research studies, alongside wound care physicians, on the treatment of diabetic foot ulcers, wound care/healing, and efficacy of utilizing laser doppler flowmetry in the restoration of blood supply and prediction of amputation levels. He also developed an inpatient wound care program that resulted in the establishment of a Skin Resource Committee, created a wound care and dressing algorithm, and provided training to the nursing staff to advance their knowledge and competency in wound care.
