Speech Therapy

ANX Home Healthcare’s Speech-Language Pathologists help stroke survivors with aphasia (language impairment) relearn how to use language. Through drills and exercises to improve language and conversation skills, or by developing alternative means of communication, such as gestures and writing, our Speech & Language Therapists are able to help patients develop problem-solving and social skills needed to cope with the after-effects of a stroke.

Our Speech & Language Therapists also help patients with dysphagia (swallowing disorders) improve their ability to swallow through therapies that could include muscle exercises, compensatory strategies, head posture, modified diets, and safe swallow techniques.

To refer a patient to ANX Home Healthcare for service, all we need are:

• Physician’s order and/or verbal authorization
• Patient’s name, address and phone number
• Current insurance information
• (Optional) Current Medication List and other pertinent medical information

We will initiate health care services within 48 hours of referral date or on the date specified by the physician.
